Positive Distraction for Treatment Rooms

I design deeply engaging ceiling tiles that act as a "window for the imagination" for patients undergoing treatment.

For patients in anaesthetic rooms, MRI scanners, or dental chairs, the view is often a stark, white suspended ceiling. This can increase feelings of claustrophobia and anxiety. My skylight panels replace this clinical view with calming, narrative-rich scenes—from canopies of trees to blue skies filled with birds and kites.

The "Drop-In" Solution

These artworks are designed to be an instant retrofit solution with absolutely zero disruption to clinical services.

  • Standard Fit: The LED panels are specifically sized to fit standard NHS and commercial suspended ceiling grids (typically 600mm x 600mm).

  • Instant Install: There is no complex construction work required. Your Estates team simply swaps the existing white tiles for the illuminated panels. A whole room can be transformed in minutes.

  • Anxiety Reduction: Provides a focal point for "positive distraction," helping to lower heart rates and perceived pain during procedures.

  • Lighting: The artwork is illuminated by ultra-slim, flicker-free LED panels. I partner with a specialist UK medical lighting supplier, Aspire, to provide the complete hardware solution that creates a hyper-realistic "window" effect.

A Guide to Costs

Pricing is modular and based on the number of panels required for your space.

  • Design Fee: I provide a fixed fee for the artwork creation based on the complexity of the theme.

  • Hardware Quote: For the LED panels and high-definition printing, I can arrange a separate quote directly from my trusted partner, Aspire. Alternatively, if you have a preferred lighting supplier, I am happy to supply the print-ready digital files directly to them.

I am happy to discuss options for any configuration, from small features above a dental chair to large centrepieces for waiting areas.

Commissioning Steps

Step 1: The Brief Decide how many panels you need (e.g., a 4-panel square or anything else you require) to fit your ceiling grid.

Step 2: The Quote I provide a fixed fee for the digital artwork work and can arrange a hardware quote directly from my lighting partner, Aspire (or work with your chosen vendor).

Step 3: The Artwork I design bespoke artwork. It can be in any theme you like, from woodland to an outer space adventure! I provide pencil drawings of the design. Once approved, I create the final digital artwork.

Step 4: Production The artwork is professionally printed onto high-definition acrylic panels and matched with the LED units.

Step 5: Installation The finished panels are shipped directly to you. Your estates/maintenance team connects them to the existing ceiling grid.
